EXPENDABLE now on LosAngelesIAM

Here’s Expendable on the new site LosAngelesIAM, which is apparently a site dedicated to people from Los Angeles posting videos about things. I don’t really know how it works, but there is a function where you can vote for Expendable to be displayed on their front page, so I say LET’S GO FOR IT.

Awards & Upcoming Screenings!

We’re very excited to announce two awards that Expendable‘s recently won: Best Comedy Short at the Illinois International Film Festival and, wonderfully, Best Narrative Short at the Tallahassee Film Festival. Congratulations on the well-deserved kudos to all who worked on the film.

Since the last update, the film has screened in Missoula, Montana; Erie, PA; and St. Charles, Illinois. Coming up, we’ll be showing at the San Fernando Valley International Film Festival on Saturday, October 25th, and hope to be in attendance. See you there!

Combo Sets & Dragon*Con

We’re pleased to announce that Expendable will be screening at the end of August at Dragon*Con, the world’s largest science-fiction convention! The convention takes place each year in Atlanta, GA, and we’ve been accepted into their Independent Film Festival . This is a great honor and we wish that we could attend in person. Hopefully someone will be able to tell us how it goes!

We also screened in Boston, MA as part of ImprovBoston ‘s "Henchmen" comedy show on August 8th! All reports indicate it was a lovely time. In addition, upcoming screenings in Iowa and Illinois have been posted to the Festival Screening Schedule .

real fans all want the Combo Set

The Expendable Combo Set is now for sale at the Wondermark Goodsery ! It includes an Expendable DVD, three A.R.A.C.H.N.I.D. patches, and an 11×14 "Conformity" poster (as seen in the movie).  Patches and DVDs are also available individually.  The Combo Set is a great way to support the project — all proceeds go to help cover our film production costs.

New York!

I’ll be at the Staten Island Film Festival this Friday night! This weekend the film also plays in Oklahoma City at SoonerCon. Also, I’ll be at the MoCCA Art Fest in Manhattan on Saturday & Sunday, with DVD copies of the film, A.R.A.C.H.N.I.D. patches, and Wondermark merchandise. Hope to see you there!

DVD now available!

Our DVD is now available! Click here to get a copy!

All revenue from DVD sales goes directly towards reimbursing our production costs.

DVDs are FREE to agents, producers, studio executives, eccentric billionaires, etc.! Just email and ask!

NOTE: Being a P.A. at a post house or something does not quite qualify as “etc.” — we’re happy to send out copies to anyone who can potentially help us make a feature film, but please don’t take advantage just to get a free disc. They cost us money to make and mail.

Almost every weekend…

…there’s a screening of Expendable somewhere in the country. We’ll also be showing in the Short Film Corner at Cannes 2008 (out of competition, but IN the view of international festival programmers, financiers, etc.).

Also, congratulations are in order to our lead, Andrew Giordano, for his Best Actor nomination at the DV/HD Film Festival last month!

Nominated for award!

Expendable has been nominated for “Best Comedy Short” at the upcoming Digital Video & High Definition Festival in Beverly Hills!

The film screens on Sunday, March 30th, at 11:20 AM. (Here’s the information.) This will be the only Los Angeles-area FREE screening for the foreseeable future, so it’s a perfect opportunity to invite your friends to see the film on the big screen. Several of us will be in attendance, and we’ll have DVDs as well.

We’re also screening this Saturday night at the Faux Film Festival in Portland, Oregon. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend coming to this showing, as I hear that it will feature a…special guest of sorts.

Also, we’ve received word that we’ll be screening in Lake Forest, IL and Fallbrook, CA in April; Tallahassee, FL in May; and Staten Island, NY in June. The screening schedule always has the latest!

New festivals (including FREE Los Angeles screening)

We’ve just received word that Expendable has been accepted into both the Oxford International Film Festival in Ohio and the Digital Video and High Definition Festival in Hollywood. Even better, admission to the DV/HD Fest is free to the public! We encourage everyone in the area to come out for a full evening’s program of independent cinema.

As always, the most current links for information on these and other upcoming festivals are in the 2008 Festival Screening Schedule.

Los Angeles screening this weekend

Here are the details about the Show Off Your Short festival this weekend:

The address is 5300 Melrose Ave, Hollywood CA 90038. There will be signage outside and the security guards will direct you where to go. The screening will take place in the Charlie Chaplin Theater located on the top floor.

Tickets can be purchased in advance here. You will need to buy a day or weekend pass. Expendable will be screening on Friday, February 15, as part of the 12:00-3:00pm shorts program. We don’t know what order the shorts will screen in. It’s customary to attend for the entire program.

To pick up your tickets, bring a photo ID or a copy of your PayPal receipt to the registration table at the theater (there will be signs). Tickets will also be available at the door, but only cash will be accepted.

If you can’t make it, don’t worry: Expendable will screen again in Los Angeles on March 2. It’ll be an evening screening, which we know is more convenient; however, Dave & Todd will not be in attendance. (First A.D. Brian Swanson will be.)

We’re also proud to announce two more festival screenings, in Michigan and New Jersey. Please continue watching the Screening Schedule for the latest!

More film festivals!

More festival news: in the coming weeks and months, Expendable will be showing in Seattle, Utah, and Florida! There’s now a page listing all the upcoming festivals and screenings — this info will be updated often as we receive new information, so if you want to see Expendable on the big screen, here’s your chance:
